I very much enjoy teaching Koru Mindfulness. Over the years I have found that the Koru approach works well for people (like me) who are not necessarily drawn to the idea of mindfulness and meditation. Furthermore with Koru, course participants are encouraged to keep going when things gets tough and there’s a tendency to quit. Koru teachers are realistic about the pitfalls to be encountered along the way and take into account the fact that it is not an easy habit to integrate into our hectic and sometimes overwhelmingly busy lives. This is why I enjoy both learning and teaching Koru so much - it doesn’t end up feeling like another task on my never-ending ‘to do’ list but rather acts as a support to pull me back from feeling overwhelmed by a busy schedule.

As a Counselling Psychologist I also maintain a small private practice and work in UCD’s Student Counselling Service.

Professional Mindfulness Training

I have completed teacher training in MBSR/MBCT (Levels 1 & 2 at Bangor University, Wales) and the teacher training certification in Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living (IMA Germany). I am also a certified Koru Mindfulness teacher and have have trained in Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness Interventions (TSMI) at the Koru Mindfulness Center, USA.

I maintain my own daily meditation practice and actively further my mindfulness education via retreats, workshops, lectures, readings and staying connected with Koru and other colleagues teaching a range of Mindfulness Based Interventions.
